What are the preferred Internet Explorer 11 settings for University of Phoenix?
Answer:
To change to the preferred settings, perform the following:
  1. Open Internet Explorer (if on Windows 8, must be in Desktop mode)
  2. Click Tools (may be present as a gear icon below the red X in the upper right)
  3. Select Internet Options
  4. Click the General tab
  5. Under Browsing History, click Delete
    1. Uncheck the box next to Preserve Favorites website data
    2. Check the box next to Temporary Internet Files and website files
    3. Check the box next to Cookies and website data
    4. Uncheck the remaining boxes
    5. Click Delete
  6. Under Browsing History, click Settings
    1. Select the option next to Every time I visit the webpage
    2. Confirm Amount of disk space to use is 500 MB
    3. Click OK
  7. Under Browsing History, check the box for Delete browsing history on exit
  8. Click the Security tab
  9. Click Reset all zones to default level (if available)
  10. Click the green checkmark for Trusted Sites
  11. Click the Sites button
    1. Uncheck the box next to Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone
    2. Under Add this web site to the zone, type *.phoenix.edu
    3. Click Add
    4. Under Add this web site to the zone, type *.apollolibrary.com
    5. Click Add
    6. Click Close
  12. Under Security level for this zone, drag the slider to Low
  13. Click the Privacy tab
  14. Under Settings, click the Default button (if available)
  15. Under Pop-up Blocker, uncheck the box next to Turn on Pop-up Blocker
  16. Click the Advanced button
    1. Uncheck the box next to Override automatic cookie handling
    2. Click OK
  17. Click the Content tab
  18. Click the Family Safety button and confirm the option states Set up Family Safety (Family Safety cannot be applied to an administrator account and a standard or child user account must be created if Family Safety is to be used)
  19. Close the Family Safety window
  20. Under Certificates, click Clear SSL state
  21. Click OK
  22. Click the Advanced tab (top-right)
  23. Click the Restore advanced settings button (bottom-right)
  24. In the Settings list, do the following:
    1. Under the Accessibility section, check the boxes for Reset text size... and Reset zoom level...
    2. Under the Browsing section, uncheck the box next to Enable third-party browser extensions*
    3. Under the Security section, check the box for Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed
  25. Click Apply
  26. Click OK
  27. Restart the browser for settings to take effect
