Competency-Based Program Attendance Requirements

Question:
What are the attendance requirements in Competency-Based (CB) program courses?
Answer:
Weeks 1 & 2 of each Course Block:
  • Students in CB courses must post at least one time in each course of the block during Week 1 or Week 2.
  • Students will be automatically dropped from each course that they fail to post in during Week 1 or Week 2.
Beginning Week 3 of each Course Block:
  • Beginning Week 3, students in CB courses only need to post in any one of the courses in the block within 14 days of their last post.
  • Students will be automatically dropped from every course in the block if they fail to post for any rolling 14-day period.
What counts for Attendance in a CB course?
  • Posts in the Instructor’s discussion area of the classroom.
  • Reflection submissions.
  • Competency submissions.
What activity does not count for Attendance in a CB course?
  • Private Messages to the instructor via the envelope icon.
  • “Course Room” or “Blackboard Collaborate” interactions.
