Vitalsource Online Refresh the Page Error
Symptom:
When I click my textbook link from the classroom, Vitalsource online appears with the following error:
Refresh the Page and a picture of a robot in the background
After clicking the refresh button in the browser, it goes to the Bookshelf sign on page.  After signing on, it goes back to the Refresh the Page error again.
Cause:
This error may be caused by an adware program called Browser Assistant running on your computer. Adware is software that automatically displays or downloads advertising material (often unwanted) when a user is online.
Resolution:
To resolve this issue on Microsoft Windows 10, perform the following:
  1. Click the Start button
  2. Click Settings (gear symbol, usually in lower left)
  3. Click Apps or Apps & Features
Note: If your preference is to use the Control Panel use Programs and Features to uninstall the program
  4. Locate Browser Assistant
  5. Select Browser Assistant
  6. Click Uninstall
  7. Click Yes to allow
Note: You may want to check the list for IE Browser Assistant. If present uninstall this as well.
Additional Information:
The presence of a Browser Assistant indicates that you may have other potentially unwanted programs, malware, or adware on your computer. It is recommended that you install an anti-malware program of your choice and use it to scan and remove these programs.
