Blackboard Messages Page Does Not Display All Messages
Symptom:
The Blackboard Messages page does not appear to display all messages.
Example: The message counter, on the upper left of the Messages page, will display 18 New Messages and a total of 54 Messages.

Cause:
The Message page is displaying how many new messages and the total of messages. Some messages are nested in other messages and may not display on the main page unless the message is expanded. The page also displays a filter with how many messages will display per page adding a navigation to go to the next page if needed.
Resolution:
It is suggested to review the total of new messages and perform the following to expand the message to find additional messages by performing the following:
  1. Locate the counter to see how many new messages you have

  1. Review the page and look for the image placeholder. If the circle around the image is purple, this is designating a new message.

  1. Click the X in the upper left to close the panel and return to the main message page
Notes:
  • The main message counter in the top left of the page will display read and unread messages. The page includes a filter on how many messages will display. If there are more messages than the page can display, there will be an option on the bottom of the page to go to the next page. Even if you go page by page, this may not include nested messages and require you to expand other messages. E.G. 54 total messages with the filter set to 25 may take 2 pages. On those 2 pages you may only see 28 messages because you have nested messages within other messages.
  • Each line break is a New Message for the Total, that means that if a New Recipient is added but no message is entered, it is still counted as a new message total.
