Error Uploading File to MyEducator
Symptom:
I receive one of the following error messages when I attempt to upload a file to MyEducator:
  • There was a problem with the submission. Make sure you have a valid internet connection.
  • Expected to find a slide entitled "name of slide" but could not.
  • Runtime error 424 object required
Cause:
The errors may be caused by one or both of the following:
  • MyEducator requires you create files using Microsoft Office 2013 and later
  • Not having enough CPU/RAM capacity when the submission is processing; Microsoft Office PowerPoint especially takes a lot of processing power during the submission
Resolution:
To resolve this issue, please perform one or both of the options below:
  • Ensure that you are running Office 2013 or higher
  • Quit the application and reopen
To complete this process, please follow the steps below:
    1. Save the MyEducator file
Note: Take note of the save location.
    2. Save any other documents or information on which you are working
    3. Close all programs and/or applications on the computer
Note: For Apple Mac users, this means you will need to right-click each icon and select Quit.
    4. Open the MyEducator file
    5. Click Save
Note: Be sure to save the file before clicking Submit.
    6. Click Submit
Note: If troubleshooting does not resolve this issue, please send your saved file to support@myeducator.com and/or your instructor for submission. Some email servers block emails that has files with macros installed so you may have to zip the file to send it.
Windows computer:
  1. Go to the folder that has your file
  2. Right click on the file
  3. Select Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder
  4. You will see a zipped file with your file name which is the file you want to send
Macintosh computer:
  1. Go to the folder that has your file
  2. Control click the file
  3. Select Compress "file name"
  4. You will see zipped file with your file name which is the file you want to send
Note: Some servers will reject both files, if that happens send the email through your student email account
