Returning Early from Academic Disqualification

Question:
Can I return early from Academic Disqualification or Disqualified for Admission status?
Answer:
Students can appeal after three months on Academic Disqualification (AD) or Disqualified for Admission (DA) period if you have been able to demonstrate sufficient academic progression.

An appeal will be considered if you can provide evidence of academic progression, as determined by your College. The types of academic activities that the colleges would consider for demonstrating acceptable academic progression are listed below:

Examples of acceptable academic progression activities:
  • Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) credits earned (not available for every program/college)
  • National Testing Programs (e.g. CLEP, DSST, UExcel, Berlitz)
  • Alternative Credit Services (e.g. Straighterline, Sophia Courses, Study.com)
  • University-level Course Completion and Transfer from regionally or nationally accredited institution
  • External Workshops (e.g. not internal UOPX student workshops)
  • Professional Development Courses/Training
  • Seminars
Note: Academic progression activities must be completed prior to the appeal being submitted and cannot be a plan of future activities to be completed after appeal is approved.

Please contact your Academic Counselor or Re-entry Representative to discuss this option in more detail.
