Scholastic Suspension Information

Question:
How is the Scholastic Suspension date and Scholastic Suspension removal date listed on the official transcript?
Answer:
A student may be placed on Scholastic Suspension (SS) for failure to meet the minimum grade requirement after the second attempt of a course required for progression in their degree program, or due to a violation of the Student Code of Conduct (SCOC).
  • If SS is a result of a course grade, the effective date is determined from the student’s record based on the course end date.
  • If SS is a result of SCOC, the effective date is entered manually when a SCOC decision is made and corresponds with the date the Registrar’s Office is notified. 
On an official transcript, the SS statement is found below the last course taken prior to the SS status. This statement contains the effective date (month and year), and will appear on the transcript as soon as the SS status is confirmed.

If the SS status is removed, it will also be indicated by month and year directly below the initial SS statement. Below is an example of how SS status looks on a transcript:
