Compress a Video Using Handbrake

How to compress a video using Handbrake? 
Answer:
To compress a video using Handbrake, please perform the following:
  1. Download Handbrake from https://handbrake.fr/ 
  2. Open Handbrake
  3. Drag the video file into the workspace
    User-added image
     
  4. Set the format to MP4 
  5. Check the box next to Web Optimized 
    User-added image
     
  6. Click Browse 
  7. Enter a File name 
  8. Choose a location to save the file
    User-added image
     
  9. Click Start Encode
     Note: The document will be saved and the file size reduced.
  10. Right-click on the file
  11. Verify the file is under 100MB in order to upload to the Student and Faculty Portal
If the resulting file is larger than 100MB, please complete the steps below to attempt at lower settings:
  1. Open Handbrake
  2. Click the Video tab
  3. Drag the slider towards the left under Quality
     Note: A value of 30 should be enough.
  4. Click Start Encode 
  5. Verify the size of the resulting video file
Note: Some computers with limited hard drive space may need to change the following settings:
  1. Click Tools
  2. Click Preferences
  3. Click Advanced
  4. Click Low Diskspace warning level (GB)
  5. Set level to 1 from 10
