Chrome HTML Video Does Not Play

Question:
Why can't I play Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) 5 videos in Google Chrome?
Answer:
Chrome 62 may have compatibility issues playing HTML 5. To check your version of chrome, perform the following:
  1. From Google Chrome's upper right corner click on Customize and control Google Chrome which may appear as three dots. Note: if you see three horizontal lines instead you are on an older version of Google Chrome
  2. Click Help
  3. Click About Google Chrome
If you see you are on Chrome 62, you may want to try another browser. Google Chrome will update periodically and may start working or other causes may be corrupt cookies and cache in the web browser.

Note: some videos may be flash based instead of HTML 5, which may be corrected by changing a setting in Google Chrome. Right clicking the video should show if flash based or the top of the browser would display a flash error, if flash based.
