Creating a Hyperlink in Microsoft Office Word

Question:
How do I create a hyperlink in Microsoft Office Word 2007 or later?
Answer:
To create a hyperlink in Word before one or more of the following:
If you haven't copied the web address already
  1. Place the cursor in the desired location
  2. Click the Insert tab
  3. Click Hyperlink
  4. Ensure Existing File or Web Page is selected at the left
  5. Enter the web address (URL) in the Address field (for instance: http://www.phoenix.edu)
  6. Enter the desired link name (for instance: University of Phoenix website) in the Text to display field
  7. Click OK
If you already have an address copied to clipboard:
  1. Place the cursor in the desired location
  2. Paste link into word document
  3. Place cursor at the end of the address
  4. Hit enter (the hyperlink should become active)
