Changing Page Numbers in Microsoft Office Word

Question:
How do I start page numbers in Microsoft Office Word on a page other than page one (1)?
Answer:
To start page numbers on a page other than page one (1), perform the following:
Microsoft Word 2007 and 2010
Create Section Break and Unlink new Section
  1. Open the Word document
  2. Click the top of the page where you would like to start numbering
  3. Click the Page Layout tab
  4. Click Breaks in the Page Setup section
  5. Click Continuous
  6. Double-click at the top of page you want to start numbering to display the Design tab
  7. Click the Link to Previous button in the Navigation section to disable this option
Format Page Numbers
  1. Select the Insert tab
  2. Click the Page Number button in the Header & Footer section
  3. Select Format Page Numbers
  4. Select the desired number format from the Number Format drop-down menu
  5. Click the option next to the Start at: option and choose the desired page number to start with
Insert Page Numbers
  1. Select the Insert tab 
  2. Click the Page Number button in the Header & Footer section
  3. Select the top or bottom of page option depending on what's desired
  4. Click the desired page numbering style and position from the list
Different First Page or Odd & Even Pages Word 2007 +
  1. Add a page number per above instructions
  2. If not all ready in the Header edit mode, double click the header area to enter edit mode
  3. Verify the Office Ribbon is on the Design tab
  4. Under Options section click Different First Page or Different Odd and Even Pages depending on your desired numbering scheme
  5. Click Close Header and Footer to exit edit mode
