Adobe Reader Read Out Loud Feature

Question:
How do I enable the Adobe Reader Read Out Loud feature?
Answer:
First verify you have speakers or headphones plugged in and working.

To enable Read Out Loud, perform the following:
Adobe Reader 9 and Newer
  1. Open the PDF
  2. Click View
  3. Select Read Out Loud
  4. Select Activate Read Out Loud
  5. Click View
  6. Select Read Out Loud
  7. Select either Read this Page Only or Read to End of Document
Keyboard Shortcuts:
  • Activate/Deactivate Read Out Loud: Shift+Ctrl+Y
  • Read This Page Only: Shift+Ctrl+V (recommended for long chapters or when viewing whole eBook)
  • Read To End of Document: Shift+Ctrl+B
  • Pause/Play: Shift+Ctrl+C
  • Stop: Shift+Ctrl+E
​Read out loud Volume
  1. With Adobe Reader open select Edit
  2. Select preferences
  3. Along the left select reading
  4. Under read out loud options, select the correct volume 1- 10
​Read out load words per minute
  1. With Adobe Reader open select Edit
  2. Select preferences
  3. Along the left select reading
  4. Under read out loud options, uncheck Use default speech attributes
  5. Once unchecked speech speed can be changed.
