Accessing Links in Microsoft Office Word Documents

Question:
How do I follow a hyperlink in a Word document?
Answer:

To open a hyperlink, please perform one (1) or more of the options below:

Click Hyperlink 
  • Press and hold the CTRL or Command key + clicking the hyperlink
  • Single or double-click the hyperlink
Copy/Paste Hyperlink 
  1. Highlight the desired text
     Note: Press Ctrl+A on the keyboard to select all text in the document.
  2. Do one (1) of the following to copy:
    • Press Ctrl+C on the keyboard
    OR 
    1. Right-click the highlighted text
    2. Click Copy
  3. Open an Internet window or tab
  4. Click in the address line
     Note: This will highlight any text, if already entered.
  5. Do one (1) of the following to paste:
    • Press Ctrl+V on the keyboard
    OR 
    1. Right-click the address bar
    2. Click Paste
  6. Press Enter on the keyboard

OR

  1. Right-click the hyperlink
  2. Select Copy Hyperlink
  3. Paste into address bar of browser
 

Note: You can also hover your mouse over links to determine if valid or broken.

Enable Follow Hyperlink
If you still cannot access hyperlinks within Word documents, please complete the following to ensure the option is not disabled:  
  1. Open Microsoft Office Word
  2. Click File
  3. Click Options
  4. Click Advanced
  5. Check Use CTRL + Click to follow hyperlink
  6. Click OK
